I am looking for soft ware for reports. Has any one used HOMinspect.com software, tried it for reports or seen a report from this software? The price seems very good. You own the software out right and no additional costs for the reports according to the company brochure.

What is WWT certification and is it somthing I need as an inspector?

I did not believe the client from the first phone call but she sure seems to have a cement as she says roof. House had cement fascia and attic access and until I went up there I did not think I would find what I found. I wish my roof was built like it. It looks like it was poured in place and had metal in it according to the mighty MT 6 so I called it reinforced. Have any of youu come across anything that looks like this. Heck I wish I could have my roof done like it if it is reinforces as it seems. The thing that sucks is that she will not get roof covering discount unless she can prove it passed an inspection and she has no idea and thinks it is original. I doubt it. Roll membrane on top of concrete from what I can tell. I think it will last forever. Let me know if you have seen similar just so I can learn. Hello,

I recently had a home inspection and these cracks were found in the foundation. Inspector said they are shrinkage and no big deal. I want to be 100% sure before purchase. Anyone have any thoughts?

In the NACHI online PIA that I can foward to have a customer sign online, I can not find away to attach the SOP, or a business license, under florida law state you need to have both ahead of time. In the online agreement there is a link to click for the SOP but its not all written out. How do you do your PIA? And what if the realor wants a copy e-mailed to them as well, I know the report is the clients, but what if they want a copy as well. Do I need a written authorization to release the report?

What's duh first things ya see in basement? :-k
Step cracks, vertical crack.
Apparently duh house is 'under repair'.
Home inspector (all due respect Skip) buTT again, yapping about raising,sloping duh grade, long downspout extensions.
Eh Kevin, the clay soil also Exxxxpands eh plus at this house there are underground roots.

ROOF water (downspt ext's) that goes INTO-the-soil 7-10 whatever feet away, ya think all of that water STAYS AWAY from the basement walls?
Some of that water can still makes its way back TOWARDS basement walls! Shttt man, underground roots alone can carry water towards,near,against a basement wall.

That water IS getting in that basement because there are EXTERIOR cracks in the basement walls, PERIOD!

There may also be other exterior openings that need to be repaired such as openings/gaps around,just under,above basement windows,bricks and mortar joints,doors etc.

The EFFLORESCENCE, you don't think some or most of that can be due to the exterior cracks or other exterior openings huh?

See some bullsht work going on INSIDE basement, jesus are they installing piers etc? lolol

And at 1:08.....looks like somebody recently installed an interior system/see the basement FLOOR,about 18", new concrete,was j hammered etc. And ummm sure looks like there is water on the floor/that new piece,concrete apron. That is NOT going to STOP water from coming in and obviously doesn't remove,relieve,lessen ANY exterior pressure against the basement walls and doesn't remove any possible underground roots against the wall(s) which could certainly cause some cracks.

Hmmm, don't hear dogshtt about what SHOULD be done and WHY, exterior waterproofing. Yeah,pfttttt, we can see the longer black drain tile on downspouts.....LOL.

Duuuh, do ya see WHERE water first-enters into the hollow block wall?
And THEN........after its inside duh blocks it falls through the lower blocks and comes out at-along the COVE, the bottom of basement wall/floor.


Here, some smaller roots grew INTO,THROUGH the exterior corner crack,helped widen the crack.....NO interior system on THIS PLANET does dogshttt in regards to stopping the water from where its REALLY entering and doesn't remove,relieve clay or roots.

And all these homes had at least 1 area of duh basement wall/inside, that had some efflorescence,some had x-amount of mold on past of block wall.

This is to let everyone know that some people talk the talk and also walk the walk.

I needed some help with thermal imaging. I had read Will Decker's page in the internet and remembered that he has an entry about mentoring home inspectors. So, I called Will Decker in the Chicago area and asked for his help. He was very gracious and immediately invited me to come along in one on his inspections.


Will was very generous with his time and knowledge during the inspection, and I managed to learn some new things. He was very courteous to me at all times and made me feel as an active member of the inspection instead of the onlooker that I really was. It was great to see a real pro at work, and I think we are lucky to have a member of InterNACHI who is so knowledgeable and ready to help others.

Gentlemen, need some suggestions on what type of respirator I should purchase....I have a full face type from my concrete days however, I am looking for a half face type. Will the ones they sell at Home Depot provide sufficient protection against molds,airborne fibers,animal feces?? Thanks in advance.
